Remembering May uyekubo

We wanted to share news with you regarding one of the family members of Row Don't Drift docu-narrative, Yoshi Kubo's younger sister May (Kubo) Uyekubo, who passed away Wednesday morning on July 22nd 2026. 

The Nisei generation is slowly leaving us and their first hand experiences of the Japanese American internment camp are going with them. These priceless memories are valuable to future generations for their legacies and lessons for humanity. We have had the honor to capture some of their stories in our film "Row Don't Drift: An American legacy."
